The KMC is the largest military community outside the continental U.S. It is home to the United States Air Forces in Europe Headquarters and to Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, the largest military hospital outside the U.S. and the place where the majority of the servicemembers wounded in Iraq and Afghanistan are treated.
